In the near future, the state of employment could very well look much different than it does right now. This infographic from TitleMax takes a look at the 50 most common occupations and their likelihood of automation in the future.
The two occupations that will affect most are those working in retail sales and food preparation. as we're already beginning to these be automated today. In terms of retail jobs, we're already seeing things like Lowe's introducing the LowesBot, and Amazon introducing their almost completely person-free Amazon Go stores.
From this data, if you count the jobs within the top 50 most popular professions with a likelihood of automation that exceeds 90%, then 27 billion workers would feel the effects. That's nearly 8% of the population in the United States and would also result in $372 million in lost wages every single working hour! What's your occupation and did it make this list?
