An addiction pertaining to most of the individuals doesn’t stay up to their personal life, they even get extended to the workplace and ruin the work culture, environment of the company.

A survey predicted that more than 2 million people in United Kingdom are addicted to some form of substance consumption or illicit activity. It was reported that in United Kingdom, 2.9 million intake illegal drugs, 1.5 million consume cocaine, 1.9 million individuals are addicted to take prescribed medications and 6% individuals are addicted to sex and pornography.

It is estimated that over 1 million UK employees offering services for various companies store drugs such as cannabis, opiates and cocaine in their system desks and nearly 200,000 people reach their workplace with hangover.

Doctors, Lawyers, Construction workers, Mining workers and City professionals are few popular professions that are at higher risk of alcohol consumption. A survey conducted by the National Statistics on a community of 100,000 people has demonstrated that every 500 out of 100,000 people are dependent on either alcohol or some type of drug.

The alcohol and drug dependency has a great impact on the work culture and over 60% of employees said they had a problem with staff drinking and it would cost the country’s economy around £ 6.4 billion per annum.
