Social Recruiting in 2013

Social Recruitment: It is a concept of recruiting people through social media.

For 6 years we have been talking about social recruiting and its importance as an essential part of the hiring process. Just like marketers, recruiters must leverage all channels to find out the right candidate. This year, however, social recruiting has become a main stay for recruiters.

In 2013 many companies are planning to increase their investment on the candidates, compared to amount they spent in the 2012. Social networking tops this list, with companies projecting a 73% increase in social recruiting from 2012 t0 2013.

Social recruitment has enhanced the time spent by the recruiters on the recruitment of the candidate. By this process hiring process has become fast, candidate quality, number of candidates and candidates coming from referrals and social media has increased.

It is observed that candidates who get recruited through Job boards are hired and stay with the company for 3 or more years and majority of candidates who come from referrals stay with the company for more than 3 years.

LinkedIn is still the best network to search for the potential candidates, followed by face book and Twitter.

With variety of channels to use recruiters have advantage of choosing candidate they deserve. Before recruitment checking the social media and knowing the personality trends of the individual is helping the companies in good way and most of the candidates recruited either have positive attributes on their pages or neutral attributes.
