Any Army, which can be called as the short form of ‘armed forces’ is a land based branch of the military of a country which is required to serve the nation and protect it against foreign attack. An army of a nation is considered large or small on the basis of the armed men or staff that it has.
For example, China’s army has 2250000 active troops and 800000 reserve personnel and is thus considered the largest army in the entire world. On similar lines, the following are the smallest armies in the world.
With only 130 army personnel, Saint Kitts and Nevis is the country to have the smallest army in the entire world. Iceland is another country which has a really small army with only 130 army personnel. This army was founded in the year 1918. Even Antigua and Barbuda has army strength of 130 personnel and is another country on this list of the smallest armies in the world.
Monaco’s army consists of 263 army personnel, which is again a small size for an army. Vanuatu is another nation with a really small army size followed by Mauritius and Haiti with 2000 army personnel, Costa Rica with 9800 army men, Panama with 12000 army personnel and Palestine with 56000 army personnel.
