We live in a peaceful corner of the Milky Way of which our solar system is only but a very very small part. It was formed four and half billion years ago which takes over 250 billion years to orbit around the galactic center at a speed of about 200,000km per hour.
Our sun forms the center of our solar system which is orbited by eight planets, numerous asteroids, and comets as well as some dwarf planets too. Of the eight planets to orbit around the sun, four are terrestrial planets while the rest are all gas planets. Mercury, a terrestrial planet is the smallest and the lightest of all the planets while Jupiter, a gas planet is the biggest of them all.
