
It was exactly an year ago that the 'fastest man with no legs' was convicted for killing his girl friend Reeve Steenkamp. But before his life was turned upside down, the blade runner, Oscar Pistorius was a world famous paralympian who had won numerous medals since his entry into the paralympic games in 2004.
The south African national was 11 months old when he suffered from a double amputee from below the knee due to the fact that he was born with no fibula, the bone that runs along the side of the leg , from knee to ankle.
Oscar first's attempt at the paralympic games won him the T44 200 m gold medal in the Athens Paralympics breaking the then world record.
