Oral Health in Children

Children as young as preschoolers are developing teeth problems. Tooth decay has become common in children. It is mainly attributed to poor oral health and excessive sugary food consumption.

Children are overdosing on sugary stuff and other items that are not good for the health of their teeth. When this is paired with improper oral care, it can cause many dental problems. This infographic presents statistics about tooth decay in children and how it can be countered.

Childhood is the time, when children should be introduced to healthy habits. With the encouragement from parents, they tend to follow these habits in their future as well. This will help in preventing oral problems.

Brushing and flossing along with children is better. They should be given snacks, sugar foods and sweetened drinks in moderation. Sticky foods such as candy, fruit snacks, etc should be limited.

Regular visits to the dentist should start as early as age three.
