
Churches are religious monuments of Christians where the people following the religion of Christianity and come to pray to Lord Jesus. There are innumerable big and small churches all across the world, each with its own different quality and story.
Christianity is a very old religion and hence some churches in the world were constructed hundreds and thousands of years ago. Some of the oldest churches in the world are believed to be more interesting than the others because of the fact that they have a lot of history associated with them.
Dura-Europos house church is an example of the oldest church known to the world as it was established in the year 235 and is located in Syria.
Another very old church in the world is Megiddo church which is located in Israel and was established in the 3rd century. Cathedrals are also examples of churches and one of the oldest church/cathedral is the Etchmiadzin cathedral which was constructed in the year 301-303.
This cathedral is located in Armenia. Some of the other oldest churches in the world are church of St Peter in Turkey, Panagia Ekatontapiliani located in Greece, St. Peter’s Basilica located in Roma, Vatican city and the Santa Maria in Trastevere located in Italy.
