Humans are definitely the most intelligent race on the planet but apart from Humans, there are several other species and animals which are considered intelligent for the simple reason that they can think, calculate, and take decisions and reason.
The intellectual abilities of certain animals help them to hunt, solve problems, recognize themselves and other animals etc. Some of these animals can also identify human faces while some can escape routes etc with their intellect and sharp brains. Common Chimpanzee is one of the most intelligent animals in the world and can use tools to hunt etc. Even Gorillas can hunt using tools and have problem solving abilities. This is why gorillas too are considered intelligent. Bottlenose Dolphins can watch TV on their own, recognize themselves in mirrors and understand numerical concepts as well whereas Elephants chew those leaves which they identify to have medicinal value to heal themselves.
Sheep is another really intelligent animal as it can identify human and animal faces and differentiate between sweet and sour. Rats can find loopholes, escape using shorter routes and have a keen sense of smell. Some other intelligent animals are parrots, dogs, giant pacific octopus and pigeons.
