Music and movies have always been recipients of controversy and anger from certain people and groups in the world. But apart from these, even music videos have been condemned by people across the world, so much so that certain videos have been banned from public screening or TV screening.
The reason why some of the music videos are controversial is because they have shown something which either disturbed the religious sentiments or people or had sexual content which in unacceptable to be screened on TV sets.
One famous example of a controversial music video is Closer-Nine inch nails’ video which included the image of a nude bald woman with Crucifix mask.(s)AINT is another song whose video came under the shadow of controversy because it showed self mutilation, cocaine snorting and receiving narcotics.
The video of the song ‘Smack my bitch up’ by The Prodigy was believed to have lyrics, title and video promoting violence against women and was thus subject to controversy. Madonna’s song’s video -like a prayer too was a recipient of a lot of controversy as it showed burning crosses imagery.
