Migraine and Headaches

What is a Migraine?
A migraine is a headache that causes severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation to one side of the head. In migraine, overactive nerve cells stimulate the blood vessels, causing hormones to be released. These hormones then cause the blood vessels near the nerve terminals to swell, resulting in a migraine. Migraine is commonly accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and excessive light and sound sensitivity. Its attacks can last for hours or days, and the pain can be severe enough to interfere with daily activities.
