Generally the conflicts that arise at workplace are inevitable and most of the people come across some sought of conflicts while being at a workplace. An international study made by the CPP, Inc has revealed that 85% of employees have to deal with some type of conflicts. In this survey, 34% of employees said stress was the major reason for conflict and others have stated that personality clashes, warring egos and heavy workloads were other few issues that resulted in conflicts.
The company’s manager must try to identify the conflict, understand it and resolve it before it escalates and makes an emotional impact on the work productivity. A report shows that more than 27% of employees have come across a conflict that involved abusing or personal insult and nearly 10% of employees have stated that workplace conflict was the prime reason for project failure and incurred huge losses to the company.
The best solution to prevent workplace conflicts is to train the employees in conflict management and request them to apply the same whenever a conflict occurs. Over 95% of employees have said that conflict management training has helped them in dealing the workplace issues in a more positive way than earlier.
