
St. Patrick is credited for bringing Christianity into ireland and the day of his death is recognized by the Catholic Church as an official feast day to commemorate the Saint. And as such , March 17th have for centuries been celebrated as St. Patrick's Day in Ireland and elsewhere, a day of feast for St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.
One of the most famous traditions of this day is to wear green colored clothings and accessories as well as to wear green shamrocks since it is considered that they bring in good luck to the wearer.
It is believed that the three-leaf clover was considered by St. Patrick as the symbol of the trinity while the four leaves of a four-leaved clover supposedly symbolized hope, faith, love and luck.
