Elon Musk is a billionaire American entrepreneur and is the co-founder of Paypal and Tesla Motors. He is the genius behind SpaceX, which has a NASA contract for flights to the ISS, but his personal goal is to send humans to Mars with the idea of creating sustainable settlements.
His original idea of Mars Oasis Missions was to send a small greenhouse to the surface of Mars, packed with dehydrated nutrient gel that could be hydrated on landing, with SpaceX looking into the technology of creating reusable rockets. He is also the brains behind the Hyperloop system, a hypothetical mode of high-speed transportation as an alternative to boats, planes, cars and trains.
His fictional counterpart is Tony Stark, the Iron Man of Marvel Comics writer Stan Lee. Like Musk, Stark is also a billionaire playboy entrepeneur with 2 degrees and a background in engineering. When not fighting villains as part of The Avengers superhero team, he is researching a form of cheap, wireless, infinitely-replenishable and environmentally friendly energy.
Whilst these 2 characters can never meet in real life, one interesting fact brought the two closer - the SpaceX factory was used as a filming location for Iron Man 2 and Musk has a cameo in the movie!
