For many good reasons, the UK attracts more international students compared to the US.

While, in 2010, 405,810 foreign students have taken admissions in UK educations, in 2011, 428,225 international students enrolled for different programs like Bachelor’s degrees, and master’s degrees.
Only 13% of non UK students seek bachelor’s degree admission, 14% of them registered in fulltime bachelor’s degree programs, 46% of all foreign students joined in master’s degree courses and the remaining 70% wanted to pursue fulltime master’s degree in the UK.
Chinese student contribute major share with more 67,325 students who pursue studies in the UK. 39.090 Indian students seek higher education in the UK. Students from Nigeria, Ireland, Germany and the US join the UK educational institutions but their size is below 20,000.
Saudi Arabia, France, Poland, Canada, and Norway contribute minor part by sending below 15,000 students from their nationalities.
When you think of which programs do they prefer most? Its Business Administrative Studies opted by 125,450 international students followed by Engineering and Technology for which 53,335 students were registered.
The other courses like social studies, computer science, medicine, languages, creative arts and design, law, bio sciences, and physical sciences could attract foreign students below 37,000 in each program.
