In ancient times, a bride’s headpiece would be restricted to floral wreath for the commoners and jeweled crown for the royals. But times have changed. The soon to be married has a host of options to choose from nowadays. In fact there are stores that exclusively sell wedding headpieces.
There are various options of head pieces to choose from for the bride. What one will choose depends on the rest of the bridal attire. If your bridal dress is off white in color, you can go a little experimental with your headpiece. If it is white, stick to something made of platinum, silver or rhinestone. If it is ivory, you can go for a headpiece made of dreamy pearls or romantic lace. If it any other color, try to synchronize your headpiece with the finishing of your dress. That is if your dress is shiny, go for a shiny headpiece and if it matt then go for something subtler.
If you are wearing a veil, do not go for an elaborate headpiece. Try to keep it simple so that there is a balance between the veil and the headpiece. Choose a small jeweled clip or a pin tiara.
If you are not wearing a veil, you can experiment a bit more. If you want a contemporary twist to the traditional affair, go for a quirky head accessory, like a big bow clip or headband.
You can also stick to simple floral wreaths. Or else if you want to go all the way vintage, opt for a feathered headpiece or a circlet.
