Cats and dogs for instance can see colors but dull and sometimes even color blind. Snakes on the other hand have two types of eyes. The day time ones help sense the prey by motion, while the night time eyes sense the prey by heat sensations.

Insects have compound eyes that gives them a mosaic view. Sea creatures such as crabs and lobsters cannot see much detail. However they have a high level of color vision. Most birds have UV vision and hunting birds have binocular vision. Sharks have an accurate vision but no color.
