Industrial revolution brought contemporary interior designing for the common man. Aesthetic movement replaced Victorian style and paved way for Eclecticism and Beaux Art forms. Art deco flourished in the 1920s and 1930s.
Sub-urban sprawls created after the war provided ample scope for development of interior decoration. Modernization brought in mixed styles. Today's contemporary styles are inspired by bold colors and smooth lines.
