An important traditional Chinese holiday, the Chinese New Year always falls in between the 21st of January and 21st of February. In China, it is also celebrated as the Spring festival and the festivities go on for a long 15 days.
During these 15 days of festivities, the homes and public place are decorated with red decoration and candy and money in red colored envelopes are given to children symbolizing good luck.
Also, firework are set off to bid fare well to the old year on the eve of the New Year and on the first day of the New Year, hair cutting is avoided since it symbolizes the cutting off your good luck.
