Smoking is harmful to health and yet there are tobacco industries making good fortunes, as there are people who continue to smoke. Many young people and teenagers are getting into the habit of smoking and the number of smokers is steadily on the rise. Despite the efforts to educate the people about the dangers of tobacco use, the government and a number of non-profit associations have achieved little success so far.
Certain medicines have also been introduced to help the people quit smoking, but only a few resolve to come forward and actually quit it completely. Smoking causes a number of serious illnesses and death in most cases, which can otherwise be preventable. Smokers shell out a lot of money for their cigarette addiction and their health costs related to smoking will also be greater in future.
As long as there are smokers who continue to destroy their own health, while exposing the others to health risks of passive smoking, the tobacco industry will survive.
