Heartburn, also known as acid indigestion, is a burning sensationin the chest, just behind the breastbone, the upper central abdomen. The pain often rises in the chest and may radiate to the neck, throat, or angle of the jaw
Heartburn is usually associated with regurgitation of gastric acid which is the major symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It may also be a symptom of ischemic heart disease, though this is true for only 0.6% of those experiencing heartburn.
Rather than taking the prescribed antacids and tablets for this condition it’s better to take few steps which prevents this condition which include
- Food should be eaten 4 hours before sleep.
- Eating small meals than the larger meals
- Eating right foods
- Avoiding wrong foods
- Stay upright.
By taking proper care this condition can be brought to control and have a good night sleep.
