Teenagers Driving While Intoxicated

Messaging, either texting or reading is the most commonly used feature of a mobile phone by all youngsters.

The addiction is so high that many of them can be seen texting even behind the wheel. 23% of the auto collisions in the year 2011 have been attributed to cell phone usage.

Among accidents involving cell phone, texting is 23 times more likely to cause a crash. Teenagers (18-20 years old) are more vulnerable to texting while driving. Roads are becoming more dangerous because 82% of the teenagers use a cell phone.

Teens who text while driving end up outside their lane 10% of the time. And half of them claim that they have seen their parents do it too.

Parents can prevent this by installing in their teenager's phone apps that prevent the driver from texting. They can also install real time cameras to monitor their behavior.
