Dogs have never been just pets for us humans. They have been friends, hunting aides, playmates and also our alarm clocks at times. Our friendship with dogs stabilized over 100,000 years ago. Although they are our best friends, we have some anatomical differences.
The dog has 1700 taste buds on the tip of the tongue whereas we humans have 10,000 taste buds which branches out to other areas of the mouth like under the tongue, inside the cheek and so on. It has been observed that behavior of a dog matches with the behavior of a 2 to 2.5 years old kid.
The dogs have more bones than human and their total visual field is 250 degrees which is 70 degrees more than humans. The lifespan of a standard sized breed is 12-13 years whereas the average lifespan of a human is 67.2 years worldwide.
Anatomical differences may be there but the love persists between a human and his pet.
