Digital Books: The Future of Reading

Digital books are the future of reading. New research finds that books are still a highly popular medium, with more than 80% of those being polled saying they read a book on a regular basis. While 88% of consumers report they love reading traditional paperback books, just as many also enjoy reading digital books due to the ease of access and convenience.

From 2017 through the present day, consumer consumption of digital books has increased tenfold, a trend that will continue as these eco-friendly mediums replace the paperback books of yesteryear. In 2019, more than 25% of US consumers polled read a digital book, a number that is expected to surpass 30% or more in the years to come.

As the world moves to a more sustainable existence, it’s easy to understand why digital books are the future of reading. With a variety of different services online that offer digital books for readers to enjoy, and that also serve as a publishing medium for undiscovered writers and authors to showcase their works, digital books are on the rise.
