Out of all the pets, fish are the least costing pets with $1,420 as their lifetime cost. The lifespan of fish ranges between 5 to 40 years. The cost of food will be $400, of supplies $800, of tank $200 and for its decoration $20. The pet which costs a little bit more than fish are turtles.

To have them as pet, it will cost you around $1,800 of which the major chunk is spent upon their food supply which is $1,200. The costliest pets to have around are cats and dogs. The cost to be incurred during their lifetime is more than $20,000.

Now that we have talked about what are the costs of having a pet around, we should also see what are the benefits they bring about in a household. Researches say that kids around pets are less prone to allergies, pet also lowers the blood pressure and anxiety problems.
