Based on their research, it was found that the ten most expensive youth sports, along with their average annual costs were ice hockey ($2,583 annually), skiing/snowboarding ($2,249 annually), field hockey ($2,125 annually), gymnastics ($1,580 annually), and lacrosse ($1,289 annually), tennis ($1,170 annually), bicycling ($1,012 annually), golf ($925 annually), swimming ($786 annually), and martial arts ($777 annually). On the opposite side, the ten most affordable youth sports were found to be track and field ($191 annually), flag football ($268 annually), skateboarding ($380 annually), cross country ($421 annually), basketball ($427 annually), wrestling ($476 annually), football ($485 annually), soccer ($537 annually), volleyball ($595 annually), and softball ($613 annually).
