Comic-Cons are a way of creating awareness of as well as appreciation for comics as well as other related popular art forms. They work in forms of conventions and events which celebrate the contributions of comics to art and culture in the past as well as in the present.
The San-Diego Comic-Con has been known to generate over $165 Million each year in revenue alone for the city of San Diego and reached the highest number of attendees in the year 2012 with over 130,00 people participating in the events. It all started in the year 1964 in the city of Detroit and 2014's convention will mark the completion of its 45 years.
