South Carolina Car Crash Statistics

A car accident lawsuit can ask a court for compensation for your medical bills, repair bills, missed work and any other financial costs that the accident caused, as well as for pain and suffering, permanent disability and other non-economic losses.

In some cases, our accident lawyers may also be able to collect further money, called “punitive damages,” to punish a person or corporation for a particular serious harm. Even if you think you may bear some fault for your injuries, the chances are good that you can still collect damages. That’s because South Carolina uses comparative negligence that allows motorists to recover a percentage of their damages even if they were partially at fault.

On average in South Carolina:

A person is killed in a vehicle crash every 9 hours.

A traffic collision occurs every 4 minutes.

Someone is injured in a vehicle crash every 9 minutes.

The top 6 contributing factors to South Carolina vehicle collisions:

– Driving too fast for conditions
– Failure to yield right of way
– Disregarding traffic signs or signals
– Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
– Following another vehicle too closely
– Driver inattention or distraction

Riding a motorcycle is one of the best joys you can involvement in life, yet just a minority of individuals in the auto-fixated Western world really ride. This can be clarified halfway by the apparent risk of riding a motorcycle.

Regardless of whether the seriousness of that peril is genuine or only a misguided judgment is proven wrong, however how about we unload few numbers about the hazard factors required with riding, and audit a portion of the ways we can abstain from turning into another National Highway Traffic Safety Administration statistic.

Apparently, motorcycling requires more concentration and mind work than driving an auto. The demonstration itself is both more physically and rationally depleting than driving anything with four wheels, except for F1 autos and so forth.

There are more factors and hence more open doors for theblunder. Dislike Murphy’s Law is synonymous with riding, but rather when things turn out badly on a motorcycle results can be exponentially more regrettable.

There’s no real way to expel hazard from the condition, so there will dependably be a component of threat required with riding. Like autos or weapons, when utilized recklessly they can be unbelievably risky.

Gathering rides, tragically, are a typical place for mishaps, for various reasons. Gathering riders will now and again fall into the mentality of just doing whatever the individual in front is doing. Riders propelling themselves past their expertise level additionally imperil security. Knowing and remaining inside your points of confinement can help guard you.

Information compiled from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office by the Oklahoma personal injury law firm Hasbrook & Hasbrook shows that there is an enormous number of crashes in the state every year.

In 2015 there were over 50,000. More than a quarter of those—over 17,000—occurred in Oklahoma City. The next highest number of accidents in Oklahoma goes to Tulsa, which had just a little over half as many accidents as Oklahoma City had.

So what were the factors? Statewide, many of these accidents involved unsafe speeds. What’s more, about a fifth of the accidents across the state included drivers under the age of 20, and a whopping 95 of those accidents were alcohol-related. Of course, that number goes up enormously when you consider drivers who are 21 or older.

These statistics clearly show the importance of reporting drunk drivers. If you are in an alcohol-related accident it is very important that you speak with a lawyer immediately to understand your options.
