The battle for bandwidth is on.
Students are the number one users of high bandwidth dependant web apps. It is found that at any given point 41% of the students have at least 3 devices connected to the internet.
With more than 68% of the college campuses allowing unlimited connectivity to their students, their network is obviously the worst affected. This in turn has increased the number of students requesting enhanced bandwidth int heir campuses.
1/3rd of the schools provide a bandwidth of more than 500 Mbps. The largest bandwidth (90%) consuming devices are tablets and smart phones. It is found that at least 60% of the students would consider relocation if their housing complex has jammed networks.
