Android Version History – A Visual Timeline

Android Inc was founded in 2003 Palo Alto, California by Rich Miner, Nick Sears, Chris White, and Andy Rubin. In 2005, Android was acquired by Google. Google's Android Operating System was first released in Sept 2008.

HTC Dream was the first phone to use Android OS. Google releases new versions of Android on a frequent basis. Till now Google has released 15 versions of Android. From Doughnut to Pie Android’s it has come a long way.

It’s grown out of its awkward phase and is now one of the best performing OS in the market. But there’s always room to grow more. The new version of Android is to be released soon and named as AndroidQ.

In future, Google is going to release all in one operating system called Fuchsia that will support every platform from smartphones to tablets even laptops and desktop PCs Let’s take a peek at the history of Android from 1.0 to 9.0.
