
There has been a outcry about the increasing obesity rate in America. From doctors to nurses every heath care practitioner is asking for decreasing the calorie intake of the average American. The habits of the Americans regarding food have reached scary level.
Going against the recommended calorie intake of 2,500 calories per day for men and 2,000 for women, one person is consuming 3,790 calories. The reasons behind this increase in the intake are increase in the serving sizes in the restaurants, sweetened drinks which gives 25% of the needed calories for the young adults and of course all the junk foods.
This has led to 67% of the country's population being overweight. And what is alarming is the per capita expenditure on fast food which is $492 a year compared to China's $7.41. You can do the math to know why we need to curb the obesity epidemic.
