Every year noble prize is awarded for the achievements made by individuals in the field of physics, chemistry, medicine, literature and peace. The award is given on the name of Sweden scientist, Alfred Nobel.
Here is the list of individuals who received Nobel awards in various fields for the year 2012:
Physics:
Serge Haroche (France) and David Wineland (United States) has won Nobel prize for their work on measuring and modifying individual quantum systems.
Medicine:
Shiny Yamanka (Japan), director of center for IPS cell research and application and Sir John Gurdon (United Kingdom) of the Gurdon Institute was awarded Nobel Prize for their ground breaking work in stem and cloning research.
Chemistry:
Robert LefKowitz (United States) and Brian Kobilka (United States) has won Nobel prized for their “study of smart receptors on the surface of cells”.
Literature:
Mo Yan (China) has won Nobel Prize for the year 2012 for his unique way of writing.
Economics:
Alvin E.Roth (United States) and Lloyd S.Shapely (United States) won Nobel prize for their contribution in “the theory of stable allocation and the practice of market design”.
Peace Prize:
European Union has won Nobel prize for turning Europe from a continent of war to Continent to peace”.
