Before the launch of HTML5 (Hyper Text Markup Language), Flash was considered as the top and rich media universe. But the audio, video and multimedia features supported by HTML5 has suppressed the usage of Flash by various web designers.
HTML5 has become native language to all web designers and browsers. In the April 2010, Steve Jobs has stated that flash will never be used in developing Apple products.
Reports show that 48% of web developers are already using HTML5 for designing and developing websites. The largest video streaming site, YouTube has developed its own video player by using HTML5 on which more than 4 billion hours of videos are viewed by various users.
The key features of HTML5 include audio/ video support, camera access, content editable and few new HTML tags. Over the internet, more than 35% of websites make use of some form of HTML5 while developing websites.
It is estimated that by 2015, more than 80% of all mobile applications are developed using HTML5.
