Sandy Hook Lighthouse in Sandy Hook, New Jersey is the oldest working lighthouse still in operation in the United States. It was constructed in 1764 by Isaac Conro. In 1964, it was listed as a National Historic Landmark and in 1966, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The first lighthouse to be built in the United States was Boston Light. The lighthouse is located on Little Brewster Island in Boston, Massachusetts. It was originally constructed in 1716, but the original lighthouse was destroyed during the American Revolution. The current structure was built in 1783.
