In England and Wales, the first holiday of the year shall take place on New Year’s Day i.e. 1st January while the next holiday comes on March 29 which is the Good Friday. On April 1 is the Easter Monday which too is observed as a holiday at these places while on May 6 is the Early May Bank Holiday. The spring bank holiday falls on May 27 while the Sumer bank holiday comes on August 26.
Christmas day and Boxing Day are two back to back holidays on 25 and 26 December. The bank and public holidays in Scotland are different than that in England and Wales. In Scotland, January 1 is New Year’s Day holiday; January 2 is 2nd January holiday whereas March 18 is the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.
July 12 shall be celebrated as Battle of the Boyne and is a big holiday in Scotland. The Summer Bank holiday in Scotland is celebrated on August 26 whereas the Christmas day is celebrated with pomp and show on 25th December. The last holiday of the year in Scotland falls on 26th December which is the Boxing Day.
