Based upon statistics published by the United States Energy Information Administration, the United States has been experiencing a great oil production boom in recent years.
In September of 2008, the country was producing roughly four million barrels of oil per day. In December of 2012, production of oil in the United States averaged just over seven million barrels of oil per day. That is an increase of 75%.
These are the ten states in the United States that are producing the most barrels of oil per day according to the United States Energy Information Administration.
Texas stands first with 7014 million barrels a day. Past years Texas showed a steady decline I the production of the oil but by 2012 December this decline have turned into a high production.
Following Texas is the Alaska with 3816 million barrels a day. Other states with highest production are given in the above infograph.
