The teen pregnancy rate per 1000 girls is as high as 88 in Texas and 85 in Mississippi.
The state which has the lowest rate is Wisconsin with 26.2 per 1000 girls. It has been noted that teenage pregnancy rate in US hit an all time low of 34.3 in the period of 40 years in the year 2010. There was a decrease of 9% in the teen births from the year 2009 between the age group of 15-19.
The pregnancy rate which is the highest in Hispanic teens among others showed a decline of 12%. And a 9% decline in Non-Hispanic blacks and whites.
Out of the 50 states in America, 47 states saw a decline in rate. 3 states which did not see a visible change are North Dakota, Montana, and West Virginia.
Although the teen pregnancy rates are declining, it still costs the economy $10.9 billion per year.
