Social media has become major part of any company that operates its business either at international level or locally. With more number of netizens signing up with different kinds of social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+, it has become easy for the companies to engage with its customer and promote its brand on a large scale.
Social media is now playing a key role in marketing the product over internet as billions of consumers visit these social networks on a regular basis. It’s a fact that of the total time spent on internet, 27% is used for browsing through different social networks.
Today on internet, out of all the netizens, 85% of them hold an account on the Facebook and 49% have a Twitter account. These social media sites account for 84% of purchases made by the online shoppers and usually social network users prefer to buy a product of the brand that they follow.

By a survey conducted on the marketers who found clients via social networking sites have stated that Facebook has accounted for 53% acquisition of customers, 43% of marketers found clients on LinkedIn and Twitter has assisted 36% marketers in finding out the clients.
In general, marketers are using social media to increase traffic, improve sales, generate leads, to build a loyal customer base and reduce the expenses incurred on marketing.
