Water is the major life source on earth and we humans end up utilizing a major quantity of water without the knowledge of water depletion which causes major life loss to both humans and animal species.
An average human uses 160 liters of water in a day with a nuclear family using 450 liters in a day and a small family uses 70,000 liters per year.
Optimal usage of water is really important to prevent the water from depletion. We usually use 80 liters of water a day for having a tub bath but if we shower instead we can almost save 72 liters of water.
Dishwashers and washing machines consume upto 10-20 liters and 50-150 liters respectively which can be reduced drastically if only we use physical labor for this kind of jobs once in a while.
Most of us have a habit of leaving the tap open while brushing our teeth or while washing hands which wastes about 6 liters of water. Sanitary needs again consume another 6 liters in a single use. If we can control the usage of water by closing the tap while brushing and by using high pressure pumps in toilets a lot of water is saved.
