Until 2011, Rugby Championship was a tri nations series that used to be played between New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, but from 2012 Argentina also joined this series. This rugby championship is organized by an institution named as SANZAR, which is basically a consortium that is formed by the governing bodies of the Rugby Unions of South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
These unions organize the matches and finalize the schedule of the play. This championship series started in 1996 by the three teams that were considered as the Rugby sport's elite teams worldwide. The elevated degree of spirited & competitive success and dominance in the participating countries rankings makes the Rugby Championship as one the toughest annual rugby competition all over the world.
In 2013, there will be four teams that will be competition against each other to acquire this title. The championship has come up with an exciting schedule for 2013 where first round of the game will start in August 2013 in Sydney and Bloemfontein. The complete series will comprise of six rounds and the final round will be played on 5th October 2013 at Johannesburg and Rosario.
