Around 3 of 10 US workers found to be absent by a fake excuse in 2011. The first quarter of a year witnesses the highest absenteeism. 34% of workers called in sick with a fake reason in the month of March.
However, 84% of employees inform over the telephone when taking a sick day. While 24% of workers use emails, only 11% of them communicate through text messages. On the other hand, 69% of employers wanted a doctor’s note for a sick day. 15% of companies have fired a worker for a sick day absence.
