If you thought that every landing strip of an airport or runway in the world was designed to provide maximum safety to the aircrafts and passengers at the time of landing, then you are probably wrong.
Some airports in the world are so located that their landing strips aren’t very safe for smooth landings. Some of these landing strips are considered dangerous mainly because of their respective locations. Some are either located to close to skyscrapers or some are not long enough for aircrafts to land properly.
The landing strip of Kai Tak Airport is the most dangerous landing strip in the world because many skyscrapers and mountains are located in its vicinity and the landings are therefore difficult. The Courchevel airport is infamous for its really short runways and this is the reason why even this landing strip is considered very dangerous.
Barra Airport in Scotland is a beach airport where flight times are dictated by the tide and thus is another airport with a dangerous landing strip. Some other landing strips which are very dangerous are Toncontin International airport, Tenzing-Hilllary Airport, Ice Runway in Antarctica, Wellington international airport and Mariscal Secure international airport located in Tababela Quito Metro Ecuador.
