Every country in the world today is affected by a man made disease called “ Human Trafficking and Sex Trade.” Approximately people from 127 countries are being trafficked to 137 countries, thereby affecting every continent and every type of economy. 161 countries are affected by human trafficking by either being a source, transit or destination country.
Sad part is that 1.2 million children are reportedly trafficked each year and 95% of the victims experience physical and sexual abuse, violence during trafficking. Human trafficking is a 32-billion industry worldwide. Sexual exploitation and forced labor are the most common forms of human trafficking in the world with 80% human trafficking cases involving sex industry.
6000,000-8000,000 men, women, children are trafficked across international borders each year with 2.3 million trafficked for sex in India alone and another 2.5 million people are in forced labor all around the globe.
20% of the human trafficking cases involve forced labor and the majority of trafficking victims are aged between 18-24. Human trafficking generates the second highest illegal revenue worldwide exceeded only by drugs trafficking.
