College of Design and Social Context is one of the three colleges under RMIT University, Melbourne. College of Design and Social Context has more than 14000 students with the EFTSL (students who are attending courses on a full time basis) of around 11000 in the Higher Education (HE) segment. Out of the eight schools, the largest one in College of Design and Social Context by HE EFTSL is the school of Media and Communication.
More than 210 programs are on offer across these schools and in these programs there are over 2000 courses. It can be said that across all these eight schools, the greatest number of student payload is made up by the students who enroll for the undergraduate courses.
In order to find out and better understand how the students make up for its composition and the structure of the college, a research was carried out. The data collected were then transformed or put into a chart and presented in the form of a diagram. The resulting data visualization can be on the given charts.
Although the 2000 odd courses are not shown in the chart, the centre of the chart shows pathways that articulate between programs that offer these courses. Pathways inside schools are depicted by colored lines whereas enrolment volume for source program in each pair of articulation is depicted by the width of the lines. Existing and prospective articulations within schools are indicated by grey lines, and transparency the EFTSL of the program.
This chart effectively puts on display around 4700 articulation pathways.
