The Fogs cup is the premier competition for the Queensland Rugby League. There was doubt as to whether the competition would take place this year but rugby fans would not be deprived of the excitement this year. There was the withdrawal of two teams from the premiership and doubts arose as to whether it would be financially possible to continue the premiership.
The two teams had pulled out due to financial constraints. However, the League managed to find replacements and is ready for another exciting year of rugby in Queensland. The competition will feature six teams pitted against each other for the coveted trophy.
The teams are Easts Tigers, Norths Devils, Redcliffe Dolphins, Wynnum Manly, Ipswich Jets, Seagulls and Souths Logan Magpies. Competition is bound to be at its aggressive best, with ferocious contenders in the form of all the teams mentioned above.
In a surprise final last the East Tigers beat the favorites, the Redcliffe Dolphins, to take home the trophy. The Redcliffe Dolphins had won the previous two premierships and were hoping for a triple punch but were stunned by the underdogs in a very well fought out match.
