Fast food advertising has important role in grabbing the children attraction and making them to reach the fast food centers. From last 10 years, there has been 20% raise in the fast food advertising. Out of all fast food related ads, 78% show brands associated to unhealthy food and 22% displays the brands that are associated with healthy foods.
Due to fast food advertising, every year kids spend more than 1.5 billion on the fast food. In Canada, 1 out of 4 people had junk food in last 24 hours and 40% of these individuals intake unhealthy fast food. Every 1 out of 4 children in Canada aged between 7 – 12 years are suffering from obesity.
The advertising budget of the top fast food companies such as “The good subway” and “The bad burger king” is very high. The Good subway spends more than 425 million on advertising its product.
