Australian retail has undergone profound changes. People have started leaving traditional ways of purchasing. Instead, they started using the Internet to find bargains, compare prices and acquire goods. The fact is it’s more convenient, cheaper and time-saving.
Statistics in the above infograph show that 94 per cent of Australian population has access to the internet, out of which 79 per cent go online every day and 60 per cent use the internet multiple times a day. Around 10,968,120 Australians can be found on FaceBook and 1,800,000 users on Twitter.
While men have viewed 2,996 internet pages per month, women visited 2,681 pages. On the other hand, E-Commerce sales increased from $27.0 in 2010 to $37.1 in 2013. E-commerce spending per person increased at higher speed. Australians spent $1,048 in 2006 but in 2012 they allocated $2108.
