Distracted driving is a dangerous and deadly issue nationwide. According to 2009 distracted driving statistics, of the 33,808 car crash deaths that occurred, approximately
27,046 are suspected to have resulted from distracted driving.
Despite the shocking statistics that show just how dangerous distracted driving is, to date, only a handful of states have instituted distracted driving laws. Even in those states that have instituted laws, the majority of them are not very strict despite the increasing number of distracted driving deaths that occur nationwide each year.
Distracted driving crashes are something that McIntyre Law, P.C. is concerned about, our firm is always looking for ways to make our community safer, and part of that effort is through making our roads safer.
We created this info graphic in an effort to educate drivers on the dangers of distracted driving. Distracted driving doesn't necessarily mean texting while driving. Whether the distraction comes in the form of cell phone use, eating while driving, or simply talking to passengers, it is our hope that by sharing this information, distracted driving statistics will improve, and distracted driving deaths in Oklahoma and every where will decrease.
