It is an ongoing joke in the modern word of consumer good today that if it come from china, it is bound by no guarantee. But the history of china and its struggle with invention and sale of good is actually a far older story embedded with a history of its own.
China has it secrets of manufacturing pocelain well guarded but the accidental invention of the material by Ā Bottger and van Tschirnhaus in Dresden in 1708 did make their king a very rich man. But no one can of course refute the claim that Chinese porcelain is the best that we have ever seen.
