A new global survey has found that 1 in 10 people believes that the end of the world will occur sometime in 2012, when the Mayan calendar ends. Whether inspired by media attention or conspiracy theories, the anxiety about an impending doomsday extends beyond just a tiny fringe group of believers.
On other hand, one in seven citizens around the world agrees with the idea that the world will come to an end during lifetime. But 20% of Chinese have remained the strogest believers among the different nations who paricipated in the survey.
When it comes to a disaster for the US till the next 25 years, 65% of people stated that a major earthquake might happen. Another 63% of people said a major hurrricane will collapse the US. However, 55% feel that terrorists will destroy the US.
